QUIET MORNINGS

A free online gathering to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most.

Life doesn’t always need another solution.

Sometimes it simply needs a little space.

Quiet Mornings is a free online gathering for people navigating change, life transitions, or simply wanting a moment to slow down and listen to themselves.

Each session includes reflection, conversation, journalling prompts, and practical tools to help you reconnect with what’s important.

Whether you’re exploring retirement, a career change, a relationship transition, or simply wondering what’s next, you’re welcome.

Bring a journal, a cup of tea or coffee, and an open mind.

FORMAT: Online via Zoom

DURATION: 30 – 40 Minutes

🌿 Quiet Practice - Ocean Breath

This is a simple but powerful practice for bringing your mind back to where you are.

Ocean Breath, also known as Ujjayi Breath, is traditionally used in yoga, but you don’t need to be on a yoga mat to use it.

You can practise it sitting, standing, walking or simply going about your day.

The practice is simple.

Breathe in and out through your nose, gently narrowing the back of your throat to create a soft, audible sound, like the sound of the ocean.

Then listen to it.

Let the sound become the focus of your mind.

When your thoughts wander, come back to the breath.

And here’s the powerful part:

You can turn it up or turn it down.

If your mind is busy or distracted, make the breath a little louder.

If you’re feeling calm and settled, soften the sound.

There is no right volume.
Use the breath in whatever way you need.

Try it sitting quietly.

Or take it with you on a walk.

Notice your feet.
Notice what’s around you.
Listen to your breath.

The breath gives your mind something to focus on.
And in doing so, brings your attention back to the moment.

And sometimes, that’s exactly what we need.

🌿 Quiet Practice - Five Things To Notice

Sometimes creating space doesn’t begin by changing anything.

It begins by noticing what’s already here.

If you have a quiet moment this month, perhaps while you’re enjoying your morning tea or coffee, pause for just one minute.

Without trying to change anything, simply notice…

One thing you can see

One thing you can hear

One thing you can feel

One thing you can smell

One thing you can taste

That’s it.

No need to do anything with what you notice.

Just allow yourself to be present with this moment.

You might be surprised how quickly your attention shifts from what’s happening inside your head to what’s happening around you.

Sometimes reconnecting with ourselves begins simply by noticing what’s already here.

🌿 Quiet Practice - One Minute of Winter

If things have felt busy, uncertain or noisy lately, try this simple breathing practice.

Breathe in gently through your nose for a count of four.

Then breathe out slowly for a count of six… or eight if it feels comfortable.

Continue for one minute.

There’s nothing to fix.

Nothing to force.

Just a slightly longer exhale, inviting your nervous system to soften.
